MY PHILOSOPHY OF ART

The definition of art, any kind of art, is to awake an emotion, any kind of emotion.  Art that fails to create an emotion is nothing more than wall paper or fabric design or something just mindless, yet pleasing.  My goal as an artist has always been to give the viewer something to react to emotionally.  Granted, there are easy ways to create emotion in one's work.  Shocking your audience is always the easiest way to create an emotional impact, but I have always felt that because it is the easiest way, it is also the most immature way of effecting emotion.  I have always been looking for ways to entice the viewer into finding more than just what is the most obvious.  I want them to feel something different every time they view my work.
